You may recall that I got a job in April that has been taking up much of my time.
So back in April, I got the job of a lowly canvaseer. It turned out I was surprisingly good at it, so within a month, I was promoted to Field Manager, which basically means I'm the one in charge of the shifts where I go out.
In our little canvassing office, we have four tiers of jobs. The canvasseer, the Field Manager, the Assistant Director, and the Director.
I was just told that, in October, I will be promoted to Director.
Now, to be honest, I excepected to be named Assistant Director after the assistant now quit in September. I did NOT expect the Director to be quitting as well and to recommend me to the position.
I am still recovering fromo shock (I started as a bottom of the ladder base-pay canvaseer FOUR MONTHS AGO) so, goodbye social life, internet life, and pretty much every other aspect of life besides my job.
THOUGH THIS POST DESERVES SPARKLETEXT, I AM TOO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO LOOK FOR IT!
...now I just gotta find out how I'm gonna pay for grad school. >.>
About my closet Avatar obsession.
Yes, when I say Avatar, I mean Avatar the Last Airbender. I think its awesome. I've just never stated it on this blog because...well, not for any particular reason. I just never got brought up because LJ was always the home of my FMA obsession, and my avatar obsession has largely been concentrated on tumblr (more funny gifs).
AND THEN LEGEND OF KORRA CAME OUT.
Yes, I am crazy obsessed with this show, to the point where I cannot remember how many times I watched the premiere. IT. IS. AMAZING.
So, long story short...I have not been on LJ much at all because OMFGKORRA. (Also I got a new job in DC that takes me 2 hours to commute, so I get home and pretty much crash every day.)
But that is about to change. I am going to make an effort to finish my long-running FMA fanfics, (I'm actually working on chapter 9 of Finding Sunshing After Rain at this very moment) because it hurts me to just leave it hanging, and I might get back into the fandom a bit.
But I really won't be on LJ much besides that because I'm too busy hemorrhaging Legend of Korra feelings over on tumblr.
(well, in whatever timezone it was in) The Titanic slipped beneath the waves.
(I have a 500 page visual dictionary of the Titanic, a super-mega special edition Titanic DVD, and know enough about the Titanic to probably go toe-to-toe with James Cameron. Of course I was gonna post something about it)
So I haven't posted in ages but I came by to mention that, in August, yet another agent asked to view my novel. She just got back to me...
AND I GOT A REVISE AND RESUBMIT! :D :D :D :D *insert sparkletext here*
No, its not an acceptance, but its better than anything I have ever gotten before. She wants me to rework the beginning a bit (a fair point--I hated the beginning anyway.) And she's "willing to work with me on it" Meaning that if its not quite what she wants, she won't drop me like a hat and will keep working with me! :D
THIS IS SO AWESOME, I CAN BARELY BREATHE!
TO MICROSOFT WORD!
