Seal caught on tape molesting a penguinhttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24585481/Still making my way through CCS. Silly CLAMP needs to vary its character designs more. I know that my associations are the reverse of everyone else's, but whatevs--I can't help but see Geass characters in my CCS. Not only does
Li Syaoran look like kid!Suzaku (yes, I know they're the same age), when I saw
this frame, I went "...Euphie?"
Obviously, we haven't seen Suzaku's mom yet because she's actually Geass world's Sakura. To be honest, as cynical as I was when I entered into my CLAMP Educational Session, I'm thoroughly enjoying this. I was able to get past the old!CLAMP art and genuinely thought that the seventh volume of Tokyo Babylon was gorgeous. (Sakura
everywhere.) Despite knowing what happens to Seishirou, Subaru, and Hokuto beforehand, I still found myself liking Seishirou, rooting for Subaru, and adoring Hokuto (despite her awful, awful fashion sense) for the first 6 volumes. The vignettes in TB were of varying sadness, though the one that got me the most by far was the one where the
little girl's ghost was begging her mother to kill her murderer. Oh shit, don't envy Subaru one bit at that point. After reading this, my desire to live in Tokyo has fallen 80%. Good job, CLAMP.
And I'm really glad I started reading CCS. It's too cute and silly for me to put into words. I can't decide which is cuter--flustered!Sakura or pouty!Syaoran. Oh, and Yue is majorly sexy. Lol, 2D lust. *sigh* As a final note, I was caught a bit off-guard by how much gay there was in a manga about 10 year-olds.
Things I have learned: The moon turns people gay.P.S.
Subaru's stupid hat makes me think of him as an
Orthodox Jew. The overall tacky fashion sense (lol, early '90s) makes me think of
Michael Jackson. By the way, I am sooooo very sad that I can't pull off the fedora look. I really want one because they're too fucking awesome. ;_; I think I realized that I really just want to be a gangster in the Roaring '20s, except without the assassinations and whatnot. The male asthetic of that time period was simply the pinnacle of perfection. Therefore, it's no coincidence that I love Baccano to pieces.
P.P.S.
WANT.
