I Hate Fandom Elitists

New icon, cuz none of my current ones could portray my anger correctly. (Oh, Suzaku...<3)

If there is one thing I am sick of, after practically living on the internet since we first got high speed internet three years ago, it's fandom elitists.

I'm talking about those who support one thing or another, and seem to have this attitude of "My fandom is better than yours".

Since I've pretty much been sticking to single-fandom-only forums of late, I haven't seen much of these. But when I go back to my "home forum" site (lolGaia...<3) and I mention somewhere or another a certain fandom that I like in a thread.

Then, I get someone on my case about it, saying how its such a crappy show/manga/movie/book/whatever and how I should read something they like because "it's so much better".

I don't understand these people. I may not like something you like, but I don't go around telling to your face how it's crap and you shouldn't be reading it. I personally don't like Twilight and Eragon, but since one of my friends loves those books, I just tell her "they aren't my favorite" to her face.

COMMON COURTESY, MOTHERFUCKER, DO YOU HAVE IT?

The most annoyed I've been was with a Bleachtard (Yes, not a Bleach FAN, but a BleachTARD) who liked to try to provoke me by bashing my like for Inuyasha (not my favorite series, but it has it's charm) night and day. It's like..."WHY the hell do you care what I like? And why do you keep insulting me for it?"

Granted, this person also liked insulting me for various other reasons, probably their lack of self esteem being the biggest one, but I never understood the fandom bashing. WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT I LIKE?

I mean really, what is the point? People have different tastes. It's a HUMAN THING. I just can't stand those who think "my fandom is better than yours because of this, this, and this, and it makes me better than you" whatever.

Also, those who go "Licenseing anime destroys it. I only support UNlicensed anime, because its so much better" make me wanna punch them in the face. Sure, dubs can suck, but you can still watch it in Japanese. O.o I don't get it. I lol at the people who say "The stupid american fans will get ahold of the show and then, automatically, the show will suck" because, most of the time, the people spouting that ARE American themselves.

Yes, there will be stupid fans in every fandom, but that does not mean you have the right to go around criticizing people for what they like because of some other idiots. What I like has nothing to do with me at all, and finally:

I do NOT want another Euphinator, Sunrise. D':

But poor boy...and this time, he knows he brought it all upon himself. He did it all for Nunnally, and yet, she (kinda) rejects him. No wonder he goes emo in the next episode.

I GOT THE JOB!!! <3

So, I'm going to be working at Build-A-Bear workshop this summer! Wahoo! I am SO happy I got the job, since that was the #1 place I wanted to work at! (Besides Gamestop, but Gamestop didn't have any positions available. T_T)

I'm sorry, but I totally OWNED that interview.

You see, for the job, they gave me a one-sided, basic info application. So, I decided to...play it up a bit, by submitting a resume as well, listing all the babysitting and experience I had watching kids before. THEN, I came into day, put on my Mary Poppins face, and asked about how my application was going and all.

The guy sat me down for an interview right there, so then it was time for the SERIOUS BUSINESS face all the way through it--then once it was over, came the Mary Poppins face again. The manager LOVED it. AND he offered me more money than the starting pay. I can make MAGIC with that face, I tell you. ^_^

So, yay, I'm so happy, I just don't know what to do! Yay for a job! Yay for money! Yay for being able to act charming and delightful when I really am thinking "Fuck, man, just give me the damn job already and get this over with. -_-"!

Of course, this means I'll have to start putting on my Mary Poppins face 24/7, but hell, I've learned through the years and many family events how to pull it off convincingly.

I may not be internally cheerful, but damn if I can't act like it. And I get PAID for it, too, so it's not so bad.

Oh, and I got my new phone working, and I got a pic of Suzaku and Lulu up there now. Since EVERYTHING has to have a name, I wanted to name it Lulu, but my external harddrive is already "Lulu", so I think my phone is gonna be called "Suzaku." Now, I can't wait for my phone charms to come in, cuz Suzaku looks empty without my little Knight of Rounds hanging off it. T_T

Oh, the Pain I go through for Ebay

Now that I'm actually getting a job this summer (keep your fingers crossed for me so I can get the job at Build-A-Bear Workshop and not have to scour the town again! D:) I'm hoping to have a little more money to throw around, thus, I've been shopping ebay of late.

I was never allowed to go on ebay when I was underage--my mom afraid that I might buy something stupid and useless with HER money. I wasn't allowed a paypal, either. So, sometimes I would mournfully search that magical site for things I wanted, but at the time, could never, ever have.

Then I turned 18, and on the same day, made myself a paypal AND an ebay account. :D

But I didn't buy anything for the longest time, simply because I had no job, and had to use the small gold pile in my account sparingly, because that's all the money I would have for my entire Freshman year of college. I think I bought maybe 2 things over the entire course of the year, and luckily, one turned out to be really, REALLY worth it: all of X TV for $15. :D

And, now that the CG fandom has totally swept me in, and I have retained a bit of my gold pile at the end of the year, I thought I'd go shopping for a "Yay for finishing your first year of college! gift".

Unfortunately, I still have to wait for a transfer of funds into my paypal so I can buy that awesome Lelouch figure. (Why must it take 5 DAYS for money to get into my paypal?! And we call this the 21st century! It might be gone by the time I get the money for it!!!)

But, I still had enough money to do a bit more shopping. Since I am getting a new cell phone this week (The one I have is nice, but since I drop it so much, it's falling apart. I wasn't supposed to get a new one until September, but then my sister dropped her phone in a toilet, and it was easier to buy 2 phones at once instead of one) and this phone has a little phone strap hook thingy, I went shopping on ebay again...

I wanted to just buy one little phone charm thing for about $3 but...OMG EEEE!!! <3 I kinda liked Lelouch's pose on the other set, but...his Geass eye was ICK.

But it's gonna take 7 DAYS for them to get here! 7 DAYS! That's like, the friggen pony express or something! I will NEVER be satisfied with this world, until, when we buy something online, it gets teleported right in front of our eyes. D:<

And now, I have to transfer MORE funds into my paypal to pay for that Lelouch figurine I want. Oh, the woes of ebay.

Well, its official. My favorite couple is now incest. (Unless CLAMP finds some way to make "Sakura" not actually 'be' Sakura, it'll never not be incest in my mind now.)

I mean, sure, while I can go "awww" at all the early moments and the new cute chibi Syaoran, still IIINNNNCEST. D:

But, now I am over it. Though, I actually went through all five stages of grief on this one.

- "No. The spoilers are fake. It's a joke chapter. It can't be real."
- "WTF CLAMP? YOU RUINED MY SHIP. THANKS A LOT."
- "Well, maybe it'll turn out fine...maybe Not!Syaoran is just a clone of CCS!Syaoran or something. Then it would be okay, right?"
- "WAAAHHH! MY SHIP IS INCEST! T_T"
- "Lol. Not!Syaoran fell in love with his mom."

I am now resolved to take this as more humorous rather than "WTF CLAMP, you ruined Tsubasa." I mean, you could say CLAMP ruined Tsubasa way back when Cloney was revealed, and then again after C!Sakura got killed. Now we just have incest to throw into the mix. I will admit, this is the most "WTF?" moment I have ever felt reading Tsubasa, and hearing SAKURA was a clone back in January was pretty WTF, I admit.

But, now that I have found it humorous, I have found it WAAAY too humorous, and have concocted the theory that perhaps Yuuko didn't take Sakura's memories by way of a price, but instead, to keep Sakura and Syaoran from the lure of TEH INCEST. D:

Up until 5 AM last night, studying, with only ramen, coke, and a few packs of zebra cakes (OMGYUM. <3) for dinner. And I only ended up getting about 4 hours of sleep before I had to wake up for my first exam of the day. Oh, and even though I studied for hours and hours about HInduism and Buddhism and all that shit I DIDN'T know for my Asian Religions class, I interspersed study breaks with healthy doses of season 1 of Code Geass for maximum enjoyment.

I think that had something to do with the crazy-ass dream I had last night, described here:

I don't remember much, but a few things stick out that I DO remember about the dream. First, how could I have a GC related dream and NOT have it include Rolo? <3 In this case, the dream started off with Rolo beating the shit out of Lulu in a fit of RAAAAGE (though I can't remember what the rage was about). Then, after he fully trounced Lulu, he went after C.C. for some reason.

Then (OMGshock!) Rolo's geass suddenly evolved to take over his eye, and he ran away crying while Lelouch (suddenly healed) looked on with pity.

Oh, and in my dream, C.C.'s objective was "revealed". She didn't want to die at all, but instead, she wanted to "go home" to Jupiter--ET, anyone?

I should note that this is the only dream of mine that makes any sense. Heck, it could be a prophetic dream for all I know.

Cuz, I DO know that when Rolo finds out Lelouch is using him, he's gonna be pissed and probably try to shiv a bitch. I think (with Rolo revealing his geass having a weakness) it is very likely that Rolo's geass might evolve, possibly sticking him in his own time with no one else to talk to (besides C.C., who we know will make everything better) and give him MOAR ANGST. And heck, for all we know, C.C. could just be an alien from Jupiter who wants to go home.

If any of these come true, I called it via prophetic dream. :D

...Also, I need to stop watching Code Geass when I'm half-asleep at 4 AM. D:

SUZAKU, YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY LEARNED THE GAME.

This episode...while BRIMMING with fanservice, I actually was less thrilled by the cracky school episode than I thought. But the last minute was PERFECT. Suzaku shows that he can be haxy AND cunning...and still retains that sense of cuteness now mixed with badass...ness.

But what this episode needed was MOAR ROLO! (And more Li-kun, but MORE ROLO is the more important of the two.) After episode 4, I thought it would spend a little more time on how Rolo has adapted to being part of the Black Knights, but instead, we went right into Suzaku. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it was a shift in pace that I didn't really want just yet. :/ Meh, I like Rolo too much.

SO, as for where this is going to go, I suppose it'll be as the spoilers say--something will happen now that Nunnally is the governor-general to make Lelouch want to give up being Zero for a little bit...but then we all know he'll go back into it once something else happens.

But now, I fear for Nunnally more than ever. Some upstart Black Knight might get into his head to assassinate her, and then, where would be be. D:

But, as usual, can't wait until next week's episode!

Less of a Rant, and More of a Fangasm

Well, even though I am OVERJOYED that the semester is almost over (well, not for the gonna-have-to-get-a-job-part D: ) there is one class I am going to miss. And that is my Jane Austen class.

Jane Austen has been one of my favorite authors, ever since I saw Pride and Prejudice (the good BBC version, not the new one where they cut out half the story, even if Keira Knightley was gorgeous in it.) on TV.

This class I took was a lot of fun, where I got to re-read Pride and Prejudice (my favorite novel of hers, naturally, though not the one I relate to the most), and read Sense and Sensibility and Emma for the first time.

I saw the movie of Sense and Sensibility first, and it made me LOL seeing House, Snape, Professor Trelawney, and Rose in it (anyone else I've forgotten?) I didn't like it as much. And it wasn't just the movie--the storyline didn't interest me much at all.

And then there is Emma. While the love story is a bit...ehhhhh... (HE'S 16 YEARS OLDER THAN HER?!) I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Probably because I relate to Emma the most out of all of Austen's heroines.

Because, well, I'm not perfect. I make mistakes and end up with my foot in my mouth half the time (I blame this on the fact that I hung out with boys a lot until...about last year. This makes for sometimes awkward conversation now that I hang out with a lot more girls), and Emma was always endearing to me in that she's one of the few heroines that can make such huge mistakes and yet still keep the reader's affection.

Or it could just be Austen's amazing style. This woman KNEW how to write, and that is another reason I admire her. Considering I want to be a self-supporting writer myself one day, I can't help but admire this lady. She made romance stories without any action plot to be spoken of interesting to me. That, and I have been studying the style she wrote in (free indirect discourse) for a few years, since it was interesting to me, what with the narrator being able to put their own thoughts alongside the characters for a greater ironic effect.

Though, as to the stories she wrote, I'll never write in that particular way--straight romance is usually boring to me without some action or danger or giant robots or SOMETHING to keep me entertained alongside the drama.

Now, I really need to finish Persuasion, because I heard that one is an excellent read of hers, too. I just never had the time.

*sigh* Now I have to get back to my term paper for the class, comparing Emma to Pride and Prejudice and such...

Jobhunts SUCK.

This is summer jobhunt week. Oh boy.

The thing I hate about is, I live in a tiny, TINY town where our biggest attraction is our Super Target. There usually aren't many jobs here. Last summer, however, they decided to build up around the Target to draw in more people. (Why? I ask. We don't have anything here...unless you count the 150 year old graveyard smack in the middle of the Giant parking lot.)

Well, I tried to get a job last year, but the FUCKING LITTLE HIGHSCHOOLERS nabbed all the jobs before I could get one. So, I had to start early, and all still, all those kids are NABBING the jobs like they need them.

-_- Note, most of these kids who grab OUR jobs live in the next town over, where all they pretty much have is houses and a high school. Need I mention that this is the high class neighborhood, and everyone who can't afford to live there lives in our town.

Meaning: the ones who need these jobs are the kids who don't have parents to buy them BMWs for their 16th birthday. D:<

I am sick of going from place to place, only to find that the job that I NEED to pay off college has been taken by a kid whose parents can afford to put them through college.

Now, from a logical perspective, the early bird gets the worm, but I'm a little more liberal than that, unfortunately. IT AIN'T FAIR.

Now, my options are pretty much limited to a very few, FEW establishments that have sudden openings that I'm probably not going to get. I even started applying to places without openings just in the hope that maybe one of the cheerleaders who work there will break a leg in practice and they'll suddenly need an opening.

So far, I've applied to Gamestop and Blockbuster. I still have to apply to the other Gamestop, Best Buy, Petsmart, and World Market. And then search around some more until I hear back from a place.

Why couldn't I have parents like some kids who would let me work part time in their office/place? My mom works as a lab tech in a hospital, and my dad works in the government. I'm kinda screwed for easy jobs in that respect.

...Or you know what? There's a simple solution to this. Either raise the age in the child labor laws, or make more jobs, so people like me who come home late in the spring won't already have jobs taken from them by FUCKING HIGHSCHOOLERS WHO DON'T NEED THE MONEY. D:<

I have recently been reminded on how much I love Skies of Arcadia. I have yet to finish that game, because I didn't just want to beat the game--I wanted to get 100% completion because...well, the game's too much fun to quit yet!

And I got stuck on one of the optional boss levels, which makes me angry. :(

But, after looking up exactly how to beat said boss (So those random failshields have a purpose after all? O_O) I really, REALLY want to go home and play it now.

I mean, if you haven't played the game, then go out and find it. It's like...sex in video game form. If you don't mind last gen graphics (It WAS originally a Dreamcast game) it's a real winner. It's your typical RPG, but with stuff like ship vs. ship battles (God Bless the Overkill! cannon! :D) lots of little things to explore and find, and the characters are not all angsty whiny bitches, so the storyline doesn't get boring. And, half the time, you get to make your own decisions about stuff, which affects the way the storyline will go in the future.

So, I love it. <3 It replaced Ocarina of Time and Kingdom Hearts II as my favorite RPG. :3

I kinda figured all that would happen--Lelouch manipulating Rolo by way of family ties to get onto his side, I mean. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon. And I didn't expect it to tear my heart out. Oh, Rolo... D; He just wants to be loved!

Actually, this does provide for the opportunity for Lulu to actually form brotherly feelings for Rolo sometime in the future and for that to become a major plot point--I mean, Lelouch and Rolo working together? Might be even more badass than Lelouch and Suzaku working together! But, I have a feeling there'll be some angst and tears and cave gunfight showdowns when Rolo learns this was just one of Lulu's more cruel schemes.

But...I still have hope for you, Lelouch! <3

THIS is why I hate Vista.

I noticed recently that some of my old documents in the documents folder were missing. I decided to investigate. I discovered they had all been moved to a new folder--also called "documents"

The second document folder is located AT THE SAME LOCATION as the other one, and cannot be accessed without searching for it. Said second folder also contains all the documents I've produced before April.

I do not remember approving a duplicate, almost impossible to find folder to store all my old documents. It appears anything over a month old is ported to this impossible to find a conventional way folder because, alas--if its over a month old, I must not need it, right?

THIS is why I hate you, Vista. THIS is why.

I found my ~~pimp of a~~ cousin on facebook.

AND I found it hilarious that most of his friends are of the female sort. I sent him a message and tried to friend him, but he didn't friend me back. :(

Now, while he's an awesome and fun guy to hang around with at family events, I guess going back to his college, he doesn't wanna have some weird freshman from Virginia friended on his profile. :(

Still, there is one moment of consolation, if he never friends me, boy am I gonna play this up next family get together, heh heh. >:D
